how's that feeling now yeah feels good so so you're you're at the moment you're at 64 miles hour Club head speed okay yeah uh with a total distance of 136 yards and the so what it allows us to do if you look at where we're at at the moment these numbers yeah I really like what you're doing right so we've got attack angle good club path first path all look pretty neutral low point5 in after the go ball which means that you're striking the ball in the ground which is wonderful right great I think what we can do now is now you've start to get strike which is brilliant we need to get this speed up yeah so you basically need to hit the ball further sure okay so I think what we'll do is let's use the old Infamous towel exercise okay um and let's start to kind of get some speed in this right sometimes with yourself you tend to work it a bit as we know a bit too around yeah you have a lot of an round and when you have a lot of round you have a lot of rotation but you don't have the Down Speed that comes from height you'll see with any of the big hitters they are very very high up here when the hands are high we're able to do what work it basically back down right so what we're going to do is is we're going to take this towel and we at 64 mil hour we're going to literally get you to wind this club up this towel up so your hands go a lot for you wind it up and get the hands what feel like a lot higher so the towel is going to almost end up on your left shoulder okay from here all I want you to do is wind back down again but the a is to snap the towel so it almost goes T here okay you Mak sense so you literally wind it back and then look bang and you're really firing that towel really hard at the ball cool okay like there pause that I'm I'm already way see yes there you go you're going have S that it's high yeah yeah yeah you go now when it's high now wind it back down snap now you can step harder than that yeah yeah so high back down here fire it there right good high and then there you go yeah sure there can you hear that yeah definitely okay now PA it do you feel it's a workout yeah is it right do you feel that you could hit it any harder yeah scale of 1 to 10 I'd say maybe like six or seven okay okay great so wind it up again nice and high up I guess you're trying to get that sense of the the Rhythm as well there we go there you go yeah oh fire Yeah Yeah Bang there you go right now take um grab your Club so we're at 64 mil hour enough TI is it cuz the tow the thing is that the towel is quite heavy isn't it and it provides a lot of resistance but I like that because it really helps you kind of generate a feeling of what you should be doing down at the golf ball

okay oh I can make it up make it up

it's consistent that's

fny speed

zero try again make contact yeah yeah that's

up just the rest of the lon just by the way don't let don't let don't let it SP right just just get a sensation that's it that's

it so look at that there look right so you've lost a strike yeah with this a little bit there but your speed has jumped up to 75 milph it's a 10 mph jump yeah right so what we do now is this is just for a second we know what contact is we know what achieves it right what we're going to do now is we're going to keep ramping that speed up okay okay ignoring strike just for a moment right really really important you got to sense where speed comes through up fire really feel snapping of that

towel that's that's a proper golf swing it's a proper golf swing oh yeah tell that does that make sense y 75 now we're up to 140 still and that was a poor strike yeah okay yeah but if we look back on camera there that's starting to look like a proper swing sure yeah but for you probably feels like you're hitting quite hard yeah yeah but you when you look back on camera it's still rhythmical Okay so I think we can get comfortably over 0 but all you do wind it nice and high there you go really send that speed that's more like it yeah it just looks I don't what it's going to be be but the results that just looks better 75 milph now we're up to 152 nice yeah so you see how how important this is to to get that sense it gives me a chance as well to get around the course that's like being one of my main issues just no distance so no well and the thing is people are you know I said to you you'll know you because you know do see this all the time with my students but strike has to be priority sure goal number one then distance not even Direction distance because you need enough distance to play the golf course yeah you know the end of the day most of players you know I coach at times you know they don't it far enough to get into triple sure so you once you've got an idea of strike look you still meant in strike here look right angle attack coming down 75 miles hour and I don't think you even scratch the surface yet that's another 11 mph faster than before now we're up to 152 yard comfortable with your height you should be is that 79 79 79 we could be getting you to 17 70 75 yards that's like I'll far up my driver at the moment yeah know exactly that's what you will do when you you know when you swing it that slowly sure yeah and also by the way when you swing it slowly your body doesn't work as effectively it's like a careful swing strangely enough it's counterintuitive when you start to kind of activate and have some intention to hit harder your body naturally helps you out a little bit more sure all right so get the towel nice and high and fire it down it be great as well like and we'll go to driver in a second okay cool it' be great getting the confidence to know I can hit this

far there you go he the difference defit much cleaner look at that 166 yards now yeah that's like the first of H it yeah Drive you're around 175 yeah about about there yeah right so you 166 yards already now with drive so with with a 79 okay absolutely brilliant yeah this is great so again same principle keep that speed imagine you're clipping it off the

surface getting a little bit thick so you lose a little bit of distance there but still look because of the speed sure yeah 77 M an hour because of the speed you can catch it a little bit not quite there you're still hitting 160 yards take this all day long right so let's do let's apply exactly the same principles to driver cool okay be brave yeah driver's been the the one where it's just yeah gone everywhere in the past but a yeah but now you know put me out the game at times cuz it's like I can't hit driver straight I haven't got the distance on any of my other clubs to you know get me out of no trouble so well you again you w't you w't at the current PA you were hitting yeah so hi now PA yeah now when you're setting up to driver you're setting up to driver here with a lot of the Torso really on this side of the ball yeah yeah so that's going to that that means you're going to get now all you do here is this you yourself set put the club Behind the ball y okay good now don't have so much shaan just have it on get put the club on the ball so that's it set you bit bit more this way okay make sense yeah sure so just just imagine here we don't want to have too much of that going down we want to be a little bit feel like you're sitting yourself a little bit more behind the golf ball the golf ball okay so when you wind it up now wind it up and then what we're is going to fire it down with speed okay if you want you can always at any stage you can remind what yourself what to do with the towel snap it down okay have a practiceing

first straight in there straight in there went have a

practice 195 Y St straight away I didn't have to do anything yeah I was like I have a little warm up that's probably the best of it my driver like for this year that's hilarious I didn't I didn't even have a chance to step back step back out have a look okay that wasun that was really really good okay have another smash so with your that's 82 mes hour I think you know again we should be pushing pushing on N big you know mid 90s really we could definitely get to okay okay yeah right here yeah that looks okay it for me y y ready fire it up that's

it felt a bit stiff to me that one but I mean even he saying I've launched it like that's the highest I've launched it it's ever that's so good that's so good you know tun yeah comfortably comfortably right and you're still that's 85 but that's so much higher for you isn't it yeah and the reason being earlier is the height for you and this is what a lot of players St with the height when you look to turn and you snap down the firing at that right side down gets the body to do what work up sure okay yeah so when you to snap that towel down the lead side works up and you smash up the ball versus just yeah when you're rotating and rotating everything's flat there's no speed you slice it you comes down steep on it everything right get that towel up work it and then work the whole right side bang fire it down into the into the golf ball here this lead side naturally opens and you hit it up got to get one myself a tow now come on let's speed it up let see we got some more YY I know we

have trying to get

okay that sound that sounded sounded loud 222 come on so a little bit offline this time okay face was slightly open um at address sorry um at impact okay so don't again what do we say about that we for now we're going to ignore it keep going all we're doing is for you is I mean that's satisfying isn't it yeah definitely brilliant really well done that's it

okay so much better Le so much feel it feels really good 230 look at that yeah that's a nice shot down the fa there yeah it's good and and being you know when you're playing roughly what you're hitting it normally oh like it might be 180 yeah like sometimes it'll just I I I really struggle with getting it high so I just of anything I might top it load and we were at Top Golf wen't we for the launch of the C parad SM driver and we saw then you were hitting anywhere no this is brilliant yeah right it's choke and cheese but do me a favor you haven't got past 90 mph Club speed right so you're still off the front te's at the moment yeah come on let's get off the back te one a couple more let's see if we can smash this that's it really be brave really feel that kind of snap at the bottom oh my God that sounds so good I'm so what you should be doing with your high there we go yes look at that we're finishing there 247 yards got yeah I got above 90 do you think you've got more speed I should we leave it there let's leave it there let's leave it there okay I look I hope you enjoyed this Leah um had joined me as a videographer a couple years ago yeah um never really played golf at all before he's coming on and off he's decided this year you want to do it a bit more seriously definitely yeah well I want to compete with my friends exactly this is a brilliant start so if if you're looking to increase your speed grab yourself a towel get that towel up in there start to really feel like height is your friend get that up there when you get high hands you've got momentum to come downwards then what we're doing we're tur that right side and we're snapping that towel at the golf ball when you snap that right side down your lead side naturally opens up okay and that's going to give you the launch and the speed it is not around and around which is what you're doing before very very low trajectory shots no speed no catapult go and give it a girl that was really I really supered in there okay hope you enjoyed this video too if you did give it a thumbs up maybe share it to one of your friends and if you'd love to see myself getting a golf lesson check this video out right here but until next week have a wonderful golfing week.

Short Transcript-

Hey there, golfers! Today, I've got an exciting lesson for you, live with my videographer, Leo. Leo's been struggling to add distance to his shots without losing control. But today, I'm going to take you through a step-by-step process of what we did to not only improve his contact but also add power with a simple drill.

Now, if you're new here, consider subscribing for more videos like this every week. I always provide practice guides in the description, so you won't have to remember a thing.

Leo, how's it feeling now?

Leo: Yeah, it feels good.

Okay, you're currently at 64 miles per hour clubhead speed, with a total distance of 136 yards. Your contact is looking good, and we've got a neutral club path. Now, let's focus on increasing that speed.

We're going to use the infamous towel exercise. Leo, wind up the towel, get those hands higher, and then snap it down aggressively. Feel the workout, aim for a higher speed. You got it?

Leo: Yeah, got it.

Perfect! Wind it up, snap it down, and really fire that towel. Great! Now, grab your club. Leo's speed is up to 75 mph, a 10 mph increase. But we're not done yet; let's keep ramping up that speed.

The key is to maintain that speed while improving strike. Leo, wind up the towel, fire it down, and feel the snap. You're working on a proper golf swing now. Nice, Leo! Your speed is now 152 mph, and we're just getting started.

Now, let's apply the same principles to the driver. Leo, set up with a bit more weight behind the ball, wind it up, and fire it down with speed. The height is essential. Great job! That's the highest launch Leo has ever had. Let's keep going.

Leo, let's get off the front tees. Really feel that snap at the bottom. Incredible! Leo just hit 247 yards, breaking past 90 mph club speed. This is a fantastic start.

So, if you're looking to increase your speed, grab a towel, get those hands high, and snap it down. Remember, height is your friend. Don't rotate too much; focus on the snap. Give it a go and enjoy the process.

If you enjoyed this video, give it a thumbs up, share it with your friends, and, hey, if you want to see me getting a golf lesson, check out this video. Until next week, have a fantastic golfing week. Cheers!
