yeah yeah now I've done many videos on helping you hit drive a much straighter and longer but in this video I want to show you a live example now that live example is my Dad I'm actually bringing him into the studio so you can watch the session but before I do I want to let you into a little secret I took him out on the golf course the other day and I surprised him with a brand new Callaway Paradise driver just have a look at this reaction oh let's go

is that latest driver yeah yeah wow [Laughter] I can't believe it's lighting too it's so light no you've certainly a real challenge here

oh hang on is that a little draw that was a little draw yeah that's it is that you said you've been starting to hit a draw now yes yeah yeah that's really good yeah really good now he was clearly loving the driver but the problem is like a lot of golfers he had one major power leak which was costing him whenever he tried to add power he would actually lose strike and actually lose direction I want you to jump into lesson with me now and I want to show you because I know it's going to help how we managed to kind of really Ram puppy's power but maintain his accuracy you're gonna love this session come and enjoy

our impact right now um what's happening a little bit is there's not a lot of room so when you get to here yeah you're losing a bit of power and a bit of Club face control because what's tending to happen is you get to impact and there's not a lot of space here that's the feeling of being getting there that's right you feel a bit cramped yes and then you're a bit like this

um I can't go any further yeah very uncomfortable it's not like a flow through great okay perfect right now so what we remember what we did in this last session the golf swing is a circle yeah so what we want to try to do here is and what's wonderful about it is that you your circle used to when you sliced it in the last session your circle was here yeah a long way now you can see it's still a little bit there right so we've still got to get you swinging a bit more this way okay but it's better so we've shifted your circle from coming across the line of the golf ball to swinging more this way yeah and we've done we did that by changing your shoulder alignment your hip alignment your knee alignment and your bum yeah that got your shift in the circle more this way to there yeah simple as that just a simple chain is set up um now as I said we're creating a circle the center of your circle is the top of your left shoulder right this is the circle this is the point where the circle gets these two with lowest point it's the biggest diameter of the circle from here the circle starts to work up around back here it's working down get to the bottom of the circle here and then Works back up again but notice this for the circle to maintain the diameter or the radius of the circle so they're not down with the radius of the circle yeah for us to to maintain the radius what am I having to do you're having to go slightly backwards and up yes look what I'm having to almost basically push my hips under to create room to come through I'm almost having to come back a little bit aren't I yes to allow this to keep coming through and create a circle what you're doing you're staying over and there's no room yeah yeah so what I want you to do is I want you to get this inside we'll do it we're going to extend the sensation here just work on on the follow-through of where you need to be here to really sense that you're able to kind of get some space through the impact area by basically tucking the belt buckle underneath the Torso here are you cutting instead of putting your bum underneath getting into some form of extensions rather than staying down through it okay so we're going to work just on on kind of the follow through to start with okay so this is the center of your circle so if you if I said to you you've got a kind of from here swing through and keep this radius yeah look at that now that's what you do wouldn't it yeah but if I got it but if you stayed down on the golf ball there's no space no that's right is there no for it to swing through swing through right so from here keep your way forward but then there now there you go so tuck your butt underneath that's it that's it and then look at this this also becomes a bit of a power move because I'm gonna if you were throwing something

yeah so you did you wouldn't go no yeah it'd be and you're pushing oh you're mixing upwards yeah so just get a sense that left left left arm there that's it that's it they create a special one you do it straight away lovely [Music] too steery yes too steery it's often a danger when you try these things okay when you whenever you get a tip like that I don't feel as I release the club no so exactly so so when you try it got to get through here and yeah everything becomes like rigid yeah yeah so your job and it's not either Bros for a second your job is to remember that although yes we want to create space in that exam come through it's not stiff as a board first of all do some rehearsals yeah feel where you need to be and then as best as you can flow to there yeah so I would rather see an imperfect golf swing but a flowing one yeah then one that looks perfection in a rigid manner because that's not golfing no okay so rehearse where you need to be then flow to where you need to be okay and accept it's not going to be perfect and that's absolutely fine right yeah

look at that I don't feel I feel really nice yeah and you know what I'm saying as well when you when you did that extend I can seriously it almost it goes with the snap yeah it's like yeah 109 yards well done I think with this new calorie Paradigm driver I reckon we get over 200 yards come on so set yourself into that remember the circle to create with the drawer yeah so you set your circle yeah now snap it up that's it snap up let's see look at all look at the space you're creating for the arms to swing through yeah you follow yeah but do that again we'll start again now those two swings there were steered

faster snap faster snap him there less Theory remember Rhythm rest area is better yeah

okay A bit scary for me that I'm going to show you something yeah it's a little it's fine it's just a little bit still let me show you what I mean by this you have to get a sense of rhythm in this motion right so in order to get power a lot of times people are trying to do this oh this notice this as I swing

yeah what do you notice yeah it's just a wash down there yeah there's no oh there's a wash down here it's like a momentum is building up yeah so and then you if I want to make that momentum faster I don't got right but I hit it harder now I can just increase that momentum but it's always a rhythm to this yeah so when you are doing this imagine how am I gonna get to that I'm extending through to there and I'm going to create flow to that

that's it lovely flow each time you make a swing just keep sensing that rhythm that's lovely Rhythm down and again ah yes you feel that yeah right and then just just imagine the extension helping you create room for the circle so you've got the Rhythm

there you go

lovely Rhythm that one dad that's the best you've done anything to the Rhythm there you go look at that yeah you follow yeah lovely Rhythm on that one

how did that one feel good yeah there you go we went up to 190 now you've got rhythm yeah you can you sense that Rhythm as well yes I can yeah okay so rhythm is where speed comes from right yeah sensing that Rhythm it's kind of like a timing isn't it yes yeah

or nine two these look how have you seen now more consistent now you when we had that last session yeah you know and I know this is a the new new driver yeah um but now it's consistently around that 190 Now isn't it yeah so I know that today we should be a comfortably get you over 200 but again I said 200 without any effort at all yeah yeah [Music] lovely Rhythm there

lovely rhythm so the slice is coming back a fraction yeah so all we do if you've got a slice come back a fraction as well no oh yeah yeah so yeah yeah so yes but how do you do that that it flies because of that yeah so we're gonna your shoulders there you go we're gonna close our shoulders off there you go make sense there that's it that's all we just how we do we change that so keep the Rhythm

and I press star now you hit it straight to shot yeah 190. and how quickly was that to hit it straight all we've done is gone that's right yeah shifted that Circle over yeah a little bit which then immediately I felt nice off the face yeah it's brilliant oh I don't feel nice 194 dad come on yeah look at these numbers now consistent bang bang bang yeah this is so much better really great it's so much better so much better now you're consistently over 190 it's just like you know it's we're gonna Crush that 200. [Music] how was that one not quite as good oh no no you got a good feeling it wasn't was it four yards less come on right Phil so on this one here right we're gonna do it we're gonna do a warm-up we're gonna do what's called a Bryson de chamber warm-up right okay so you'll notice in Bryson when he's warming up you're trying to do a big one right it's still rhythmical we're gonna I'll be cats me like Bryson but when you're doing it get a sense of yeah okay it's like rhythm yeah and there's a flow of Rhythm to it it's not never I've got to hit it hard like this and oh it's rigid [Music] yeah feel how you're gonna whip it if you had a hammer in your hand imagine the old Olympic Hammer throwers they're building a rhythm at them and then suddenly at some says I let it go that's what you've got to almost have with this as well it's like the hammer throw just really at some stage yeah get a sense of just letting it go okay and notice this Hammer throwers they don't stay down and do they what do they do with entire body they extend it and that's what we're doing here yes get it out of the way but not in a rigid wind so it's not controversious it's not no you're creating room for swinging those ham through there you go yeah

okay

Now set set Circle get off you go

how's that one that felt good yeah

yeah now that is how you go about generative it was a little more power invaded didn't it oh it did yeah yeah absolutely awesome so yeah I hope you enjoyed this video this is obviously the culmination of a session we did um a couple weeks ago if you missed that one watch that one right here on the driver this one was about how you start to add maintain that kind of Direction add a bit more power into the swing but I hope you enjoyed the video if you did give a thumbs up share it with one of your friends and of course look if you're new to channel press that subscribe button right down here see you next week alright so join us again thank you I'll see you soon.

Transcript Summary-

In this video, we have an exciting session with my dad, where we work on improving his golf swing. But before I dive into the lesson, here's a little secret: I surprised him with a brand new Callaway Paradise driver. His reaction was priceless. He loved the new driver, but like many golfers, he had a common issue – a power leak that affected his accuracy.

One major issue for him was that when he tried to add power, he lost control of the direction and strike. So, in this session, I'll show you how we managed to increase his power while maintaining accuracy. It's a live example, and you're going to love the progress.

We start by addressing a common problem – a feeling of being cramped at impact. To fix this, we need to understand that a golf swing is a circle. So, we want to change his circle from coming across the line of the golf ball to swinging more in the desired direction. This is achieved by adjusting shoulder alignment, hip alignment, knee alignment, and his posture, which shifts the circle.

To maintain the radius of the circle, we need to create space at impact. My dad needs to tuck his butt underneath, extending and getting into a better posture, allowing the circle to flow through. This motion is somewhat like throwing a ball with a follow-through that helps generate power.

The goal is to find a balance between creating space and maintaining a flowing, non-rigid motion. The key is to focus on rhythm and timing. We want to generate momentum during the swing rather than forcing power. By maintaining the rhythm, you get a better sense of timing and improve the overall swing.

As we work on these adjustments, the slice is coming back slightly. To correct this, we close the shoulders a bit and make sure that the clubface is squared at impact. This simple change, along with the other adjustments, leads to more consistent shots and an increase in power.

With these changes, my dad's shots are consistently over 190 yards, and we're aiming for the coveted 200-yard mark. It's about finding the right balance of power, accuracy, and rhythm in your golf swing. And that's what we've been able to achieve in this session.

I hope you enjoyed watching this video and that you can apply some of these tips to improve your own golf game.
